After only expecting seven babies a 25 year old Malian woman has given birth to 9 babies. This according to Mali’s Minister of Health and the Moroccan clinic where the nonuplets were born.
The five girls and four boys, and their mother, “are all doing well,” Mali’s health minister said in a statement.
Halima Cisse, gave birth to the babies , 5 girls and 4 boys by cesarean section on Tuesday May 4, 2021 in Morocco after being sent there for special care.
Based on reports it appears to be the first time on record that a woman had given birth to nine surviving babies at once. All babies and their mother are doing well according to BBC Reports. She gave birth at 30 weeks according to associated press reports and is said to have conceived naturally.
Cisse, is now a mother of 10 children, as there is a older daughter at home in Mali with her husband.
