AUDIO: Warmington Refuses To Sign Off Project To Help Fire Victims

Chairman of the Constituency Development Fund Committee of Parliament, Everald Warmington this morning refused to sign off on a project to help fire victims from Kingston Central because the proposal lacked details on the victims.

The $2 million project was submitted by Member of Parliament Ronald Thwaites and was to be implemented by the Social Development Commission.

In order for the funds to be disbursed the committee’s approval is needed. However;  Warmington raised concerns that there were no details on who would benefit and when the fire took place.

He also said the money could go to future fires.

Warmington insisted that he would not sign the proposal, noting that he was expecting a statement from the fire brigade.
